Season Times Info
Summer 6:45am, 8:15am, 10:15 a.m.(minimum weight for 10:15am is 100LBS) The experience includes a ride up Aspen Mountain to one of our launch areas.
The average paragliding experience last approximately 2 hours round trip. In-Air flight time depends on conditions but are 3000 ft and that takes at least 15 minutes to descend. In-Air flight times can only be extended with thermal activity. Summer season is from end of May to mid October
Fall Weather dependent 1st Booking at 8:30am more times added as needed Fall flights are from After Labor Day to about October 1st. We book 8:30 am flights first and will add flights as needed 10:30 am would be the next flight if booked at 8:30. Closing October 1st for the off season.
Winter Weather dependent 1st Booking at 8:45am more times added as needed We fly off of both Aspen Mountain (Ajax) and Snowmass Mountain.
Our pilots will meet you on the mountain. We recommend you schedule your flight time early on during your vacation in Aspen or Snowmass in case we need to reschedule due to weather. A Foot Pass (Aspen) or Ski Pass (Snowmass) is needed for all winter flights.Winter season is from December to mid April.

Our summer tandem flights are scheduled 3 times a day, the 1st reservation booked is the 8:15 am then other times are added as needed depending on conditions. The pilot will give you a flight briefing at launch and put you into a comfortable harness. With just a few running steps you and your pilot will take off the side of the hill like a bird. You sit in front, the pilot behind you, allowing for the best views.

Your tandem flight includes a ground school course in paragliding  that covers all the information the FAA wants you to know about your flight.  To download your copy, click on

What To Wear. What To Bring...

Wind protection and proper footwear are the highest priorities to enhance the enjoyment and comfort of your flight. Our launch sites are almost 11,000 feet above sea level.   Participants should be prepared for cooler temperatures.

Layered clothing with a wind proof outer shell is best. Long pants NOT SHORTS.  Ankle support/ hiking boots are also highly recommended.  Sandals, clogs, etc. are not acceptable.  Aspen Paragliding supplies all technical gear (helmet, harness, etc.)

  • Weight of participant (for the 10:15 am flights, the minimum weight is 100LBS If your weight is over 220 lbs, you must notify us for approval)
  • Visa/MC, Discover or American Express card #  & exp date to hold reservation, 24hr cancellation policy.

Prices & Policies

A tandem flight costs $400. The summer experience includes a ride up Aspen Mountain to our launch sites in the comfort of our 4×4 company vehicle. We supply transportation from the meet-up location at the Marolt Property to our launch site on the mountain. Winter flights you will need a ski pass or foot pass to access the mountain.

We also offer a summer Go Pro package by request to help you remember and share this remarkable experience with your friends and families.

Reservations

Most tandem flights are reserved in advance, as there is limited space each day. All flights are wind and weather dependent. All pilots are constantly evaluating flying conditions. Flights are scheduled 3 flights per day / 7 days per week. Summer flight times are: 6:45 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. 1st flight booked is 8:15 then other flight times are added as needed depending on conditions. A Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Amex number is required to guarantee all reservations.

Cancellation Policy

A fee of $400 per person is charged for cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled flight, if Aspen Paragliding is unable to fill the space. For groups of 5 or more 48 hours are requested. Should the weather necessitate a schedule change, guests are not charged and rescheduling is attempted for a future date & time.  We recommend scheduling a flight early during one’s visit, as this allows more flexibility for weather related delays.

Location - Where to Meet

Aspen Paragliding will meet clients at Northstar LZ for 6:45am and 8:00am flights and Marolt LZ for 10:00am flights. SEE MAP FOR LZ’s

Local Aspen Hotel Clients will be pick up at the Hotel.

It's Important To Arrive Early

Be sure to arrive early.  We’ll be filling out lots of paperwork. In addition, we’ll be  fitting you for a helmet, making sure you’re properly prepared with clothing and footwear for your safest, most comfortable experience.

Landing Zones - Morning

The Walshes’ landing zone is about 2 miles east of Aspen on Highway 82.  It is located at the entrance of the Northstar Wildlife Nature Preserve.  It is easily found where the road straightens with a car park area on the right, as one drives toward Independence Pass.  Look for a windsock in the adjacent field.

Landing Zones - Afternoon

The Ruthies’ landing zone is located just west of Aspen on the “Marolt” property. Drive west (down valley) on highway 82 and make a right at the traffic circle onto Castle Creek Road towards the hospital. On Castle Creek Road take the first left toward the windsock and field. There is a small parking lot next to the field.

Private Course Option

Do you want to learn to fly your own paraglider? We also offer a private training program.

Package Price is $10,000.00 (Not available July and August)

Total Training Package Includes:

  • The Art of Paragliding text book
  • Personal log book
  • 3 to 5 instructional tandem flights (as needed/determined by your instructor)
  • Ground handling, classroom and theory work (1 on 1 with instructor)
  • P1 and P2 instruction to be accomplished in a 6-month period
    *(P2 rating requirement is 35 solo flights with instructor supervision)
  • Complete gear package (Glider, Harness and Reserve Parachute)
